JetPak Alternative was one of the coolest hostels I’ve ever stayed at. It was the epitome of Berlin: laid-back, hipster, and unique. Here are my top reasons for why I loved it so much and why you should give it a try.

1) Comfy Beds

Who the hell decided to use foam mattresses was a genius. OMG was this one of the best beds I’ve slept in at any hostel. DAMN. It really made getting up hard in the morning.

2) Late Breakfast

Thank you for serving breakfast until 10:30 am, almost 11 am on some days. You really understand that after going out all night in Berlin, which people do from 1 am – 7 am, sleeping in to the last possible minute and getting free breakfast is nice. Also, breakfast starts at 8 am, which is awesome for those that come back after a long night of partying to get some grub.

3) Kreuzberg – the Neighborhood

It’s a cool, hip, neighborhood where things are really affordable. Like this is the place to go if you want to check out trendy street art and graffiti. It wasn’t hard to find 5 -7 € meals within a 5-10 minute radius. Also, there were many cool bars and night clubs around too, which made it easy to go out later.

4) Awesome Staff

The staff was really chill and they were helpful. They always had good recommendations and even went out with us on a few occasions. You can always see them hanging around outside of the building or around the common area. Grant and Julian made my experience awesome, thanks guys!

5) Free Coffee with Breakfast

Ok – not just any powdered instant coffee, this was nice giant espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos ready for order by the staff. Best part is if you have Julian serving you, he makes latte leaves on your coffee! How awesome is that?
